New Music Coming Soon!

The wait is almost over! Griff has been working consistently over the past year on new songs, and they are almost ready for your ears!

Continuing his collaboration with Daniel D’olive, the engineer behind I’m Not Trying to Flirt with You or Anything, the duo have honed in further on the sounds that will bring these songs to life.

WXNA Interview

On September 8, Griff sat down with WXNA’s Gina Frary Bacon. The two talked about Will Kimbrough, growing up just outside of Nashville, Bluegrass Underground, the wonderful music community in Nashville, and much more.

Gina hosts a radio show that features musicians both legendary and unknown. She helps tell their story, play their music, and supports the arts like no one else. She has done more for the music community in Nashville than most people, and she does it all for the love of the art.

Griff also played three songs from his debut album I’m Not Trying to Flirt with You or Anything.

East Side Storytellin’ 135

Griff popped into the Post East one evening to take part in East Side Storytellin', a bi-monthly series in East Nashville that highlights one author and one songwriter. The author shares an excerpt from their work, and the songwriter plays a few songs. It is a lovely series run by Chuck Beard, and helps keep art and discussion alive in the Nashville community.

Griff was paired with the very insightful Diana Morris. Diana was there supporting her first book, Lachesis’ Allotment, a collection of thoughts and essays on behavior and the choices people make.

It always amazes me how the author and songwriter at these shows end up covering very similar aspects of the human experience. The author with whom I got to share the stage, Diana Morris, was very creative and supremely insightful. I highly recommend listening to the entire episode so you can hear a clip of her new book. Also, if you’re in the area, stop by the Post East to catch one of these inspiring shows. 6 years and counting! Glad I could be a part of this super cool Music City tradition.

“Just North of Honalee” video

Griff recently snuck into a hip East Nashville shed and recorded one of the songs from his debut album, “Just North of Honalee.” The song focuses on images from childhood and the strange feeling of loss as one gets older.

It was beautifully shot by the one and only Stacie Huckeba. Stacie is a badass photographer who has worked with too many legends to count. She is a major part of the Nashville music scene and has shot some of Griff’s hometown heroes like Aaron Lee Tasjan, Todd Snider, and Tim Easton.
